Way Too Villainiously

Spoiler-ish episode if you're planning on seeing The Incredibles 2. A mini-review of the movie that leads to my version of Way Too Seriously.
After watching Incredibles 2 with his kids, Chris riffs on a storytelling pattern he keeps noticing in kids' movies and shows: a trusted ally is revealed late in the story to be the villain, with little to no earlier hint. He wonders whether that trope subtly teaches kids that even good people shouldn't be trusted, and compares it to Thor: Ragnarok and The Handmaid's Tale, where the audience generally knows who's good and bad much earlier — asking which approach makes for healthier storytelling for kids. He also mentions the "Way Too Seriously" podcast, which takes a deep, comedic dive into kids' movies, and the revived "Show Me Your Mic" podcasting show he co-hosts with Kyle, recorded live on the Good Stuff Twitch channel.
