Hello. Welcome to Daily ish for Thursday, June 14. It's currently, sprinkling outside. It's not raining, but there's a sprinkler running outside my window. So looks like it's raining, but it's forecast to rain.
Speaker 1:And this episode is brought to you by Patreon supporters kind of, but it's actually just a quick test of some changes we made at Goodstuff. We needed, an episode, a podcast episode to go out so we could see if things were working the way we hoped. So Kyle and I are testing that by me publishing an episode where I talk to you and, then publish it, and hopefully it works. So I guess if you're hearing the sound of my voice, then everything works and, nothing to worry about. If you're not hearing my voice, then you should be very concerned about the state of the world because, someone may have launched a nuke or something.
Speaker 1:I don't know. Three quick things to talk about in this episode that I'll just to give you some content and context for this discussion that we're having today, you and I. Apple's, WWDC or Dub Dub as the Apple weirdos call it, happened, and there's no MacBook Pro updates. And I'm sad because I was hoping to have a new MacBook Pro or at least someone else's newer MacBook Pro that would now be substantially cheaper in my possessions because I sold my iPad Pro to someone who's going to use it to become a doctor and do amazing things, I'm sure, with it. Way more amazing than writing pretend blog posts like I was gonna do.
Speaker 1:But, yeah. So I was hoping to get a newer MacBook Pro. That didn't happen. We've got a new show on Goodstuff called Icebreakers. It's a hockey podcast just in time for the hockey season to be over.
Speaker 1:We moved it over to Goodstuff. So hosted by my friend Spencer and his buddy, Matt. There's about 10 episodes there if you wanna, like, recap, I guess, the last little bit of the season. And, they're hoping to record another a few episodes over the summer and then obviously lead up into the fall and, the fun of the season kicking off again. Because in Canada anyways, there's maybe two months of the year where there isn't any serious hockey, I think.
Speaker 1:But if you're not into hockey, there's also the World Cup. 2018 is starting right now. It has started as of today. First games first match was held, and it is, going on in Russia. So that's fun.
Speaker 1:And actually, it doesn't it makes for okay timing. There's some quite early games, 4AM or 6AM games here in Canada, but every four years, I turn into a pumpkin. Well, not like a Trump pumpkin, but just a soccer pumpkin and, become a huge soccer fan, football fan. And, as I said in the there's a a new, if you're in our Goodstuff Discord, which was Slack Discord, there's a new channel there for called sports ball, hashtag sports ball for sport sporting discussions, and we'll use it as a home for World Cups discussions. And, that's I said, basically, because of family obligations, I'm I'm cheering for Mexico until they're completely eliminated, at which point I would cheer for Argentina slash Lionel Messi because he's amazing player and wanting to see him win a World Cup before he retires until he's eliminated.
Speaker 1:And then at which point, I'd cheer for England except they'll probably have eliminated themselves already. And then I will cheer for whatever team has won the World Cup. So Germany, maybe. I don't know. I I'm not I don't keep up with enough enough.
Speaker 1:I'll I haven't I've watched a couple pregame and postgame shows, so I'm more educated than most of casual soccer fans are in Canada, I guess. But, yeah, looking forward to some fun matches in the weeks ahead. And, that's that's all I have for this episode. So hopefully, like I said, you're hearing this episode. If you'd like to have access to the Discord thing that we're I'm mentioning, it's kinda like a private chat thing that we do.
Speaker 1:I mean, you can support the podcasts that we do at Goodstuff at patreon.com/ichris. Still waiting for that Goodstuff Patreon account to go active. I know. We're we move slowly because we have day jobs and lives and we don't don't always allow us to spend as much time on the workings of Goodstuff. Kyle and I both devote probably more time than we should as it is to working on Goodstuff.
Speaker 1:Stuff that you don't see necessarily, like not necessarily creating podcasts, but just refining the website. There's now on on the show pages for each of the podcasts on Goodstuff. If you visit goodstuff.fm/dailyish, for example, or slash Icebreaker, there's a little player there that'll automatically show you the let you play the latest episode of whatever podcast you're looking at. And, yeah, just other little refinements and stuff we're tweaking and trying and finding our way hopefully towards some sort of modicum of success in this whole podcasting world. And that, means we get to fiddle with RSS feeds as well as audio EQ settings and everything in between.
Speaker 1:So thank thank you once again for being along for the ride. Patreon.com/ichris. You can also if you're interested, we livestream video stuff occasionally at our Twitch channel, which is linked in the show notes, but it's goodstuff.fm/twitch. We'll take you right there. And, I think that's it for now.
Speaker 1:So, again, hopefully hear my voice. Hope you have a great Thursday wherever you are in the world. Have a great day. Bye.
