Happy New Year

A recap of Xmas and a look forward to all things new in 2017.
Speaker 1:

Hello. Welcome to Daily(ish) for shoot, I missed the date. Hello. Welcome to Daily(ish) for Wednesday, January 4. It's currently minus 17 degrees.

Speaker 1:

Feels like minus 27 with the old wind chill. But, if you can see my shirt, this is not a weather podcast. Thanks to my brother-in-law Chris for making me a shirt that says this is not a weather podcast right on it, which is awesome. Not many people, amateur, pretend podcasters get shirts made for them by other people, fans of their show even even if they have to be because they're relatives married in fans. So thanks to Chris for that.

Twitch.tv/goodstuff_fm is where we're broadcasting trying out the idea of broadcasting things, using Twitch because they're they're platform as a platform, they become a little more friendly to talk shows and podcasts and just creative stuff in general. It was and still primarily is a place where you stream your video games and stuff, and I have my own twitch.tv/ichris plays games. I think is the URL for my own account just where I mess around with streaming Minecraft and other things like that. But, you can check them out and follow us. Twitch.tv/goodstuff_fm.

Speaker 1:

So I haven't done an episode since before Christmas. As often happens, Christmas is a busy time and, the the fact is we had, family coming, my wife's family, extended family was all here, not extended family, immediate family, whatever. Anyways, a bunch of people were here and the, on top of that, so we had family here. We also had a bunch of sickness that overtook our family. So the my wife's family gets together once every they've gotten together I think for Christmas.

Speaker 1:

It's been almost seven years maybe since they were all together at once and so it was kind of like a bit of excitement over that and also, just all packing into a house together, one house, the the in laws house, for a bunch of days and then on top of that people getting sick, very violently ill sick in the bathrooms type sick. That's enough details because anything anything more than that and I'll start to feel ill, I I can read a tweet from someone from far away or text from someone who's really far away from me. They can talk about how they're feeling sick and all of a sudden I start feeling nauseous and so I don't to do that to you because that sucks to feel that way. But, aside from that that that was kind of a bit of a downer and especially for myself like I said because of the my mental game when it comes to sickness is not top notch. I was just very stressed over the holidays and in a irrational kind of way, know, like in my brain I can rationalize it as or I know that it was irrational, but that kind of stuff just stresses me out worrying about one of our kids all of sudden gonna be puking and on top of that our kids were basically staying at the in laws house a lot and we were going back and forth from home and so worried that like our kids are gonna start throwing up one night and we're not gonna be there and someone else gonna have to deal with it and all that kind of stuff and luckily the one night we happened to be there or one of our kids was was when they got sick and so we were able to anyways, enough about sickness.

Speaker 1:

I said it already two times. But in spite of all those things, was a great time spent with family. My family did their stuff a few weeks before Christmas just because of other things, scheduling things. So it kinda worked out good to be able to sort of split the two families rather than having sort of go back and forth between three houses in a sense. And the as I mentioned, I think before Christmas, the the kids and I had sort of done a bit of the video game upgrade thing this year.

Speaker 1:

The Xbox one sold a bunch of our other stuff, picked up an Xbox one. I'm iChris on there on Xbox live if you play if you're so inclined on there and wanna, beat me at hockey or something. But, and so then a bunch of the games was sort of the Christmas gift idea. The kids got, some Minecraft and I got actually a couple games, Overwatch and Battlefield one and, so now we've been getting all in on some of the updated games that we've been missing out on since, not getting the latest platform or whatever. So having lots of fun with that, playing against cousins online and things like that, which has been great fun.

Speaker 1:

And podcasting has was has fallen by the way, ideally, it should has fallen by the way, but we're back in a big way because recording this show now, like I said, with a live stream to Twitch and then also, doing the YouTube podcast tonight, Wednesday, like I said, the January 4. So I hope your Christmas holidays, your break from work if it was school, etcetera was great, and, looking forward to getting back into this regular routine of definitely on Wednesdays recording an episode, potentially live video version, over on Twitch like I said, but definitely recording at least an episode a week on Wednesdays if not more often as the mood hits and, we'll see where we go from there. But thank you for sticking with me in 2016 and joining me in 2017. Hopefully, it's going to be an even better year, a more fun year, a less celebrity death year, and all those things. Of course, that was yeah.

Speaker 1:

Star Wars stuff. Last episode I did was a review of Star Wars Rogue One, which I haven't seen again since then. I'd still want to go see it again and, and and if you're if you're like me and a bit of a Star Wars fan, don't listen to reviews. Don't read reviews. Just go enjoy the show the first time, then you can read and listen to some bunch of the reviews because there's a bunch of like stuff that I kind of found out after the fact that kind of doesn't spoil the viewing experience but it kind of makes you wonder about some of the plot points and why they did certain things in the movie and things like that.

Speaker 1:

For me anyways, it kind of destroys a bit of the away from my enjoyment of it where I can just like sit back, pop some popcorn, eat some popcorn, pop some popcorn into my mouth, think is what I'm trying to say, and just enjoy the show. Okay. Enough rambling. Got this episode out the way. Hope the video works.

Speaker 1:

Hope the audio works. Have a great day. Bye.
