Speaker 1:I'm dipping into the treasure trove of questions that Aaron Goodwin, host of three guys three questions sent me a while back. He sent me one guy 10 questions or so. And, he asked, what do you find interesting that nobody else seems to? And I feel like I had this weird deja vu as I was starting to answer this that maybe I did this already but I don't think I did. I looked back through the episodes, but at any rate I can repeat myself some of you maybe haven't listened to all.
Speaker 1:This is episode a 187 if you can believe it. The it's an interesting question because in this day and age, I don't know, it feels like I can certainly remember a time when it was harder to find somebody who is into something that you were, whether it was a band that you're into or, a kind of board game maybe or a certain video game or TV show anything things like that. But with the Internet these days, it's certainly not that difficult to go find a group of people who are really into something whether it's just a discussion you have with some people on Twitter or actually going into like forums and Slack groups and things like that about a certain topic or niche idea thing that you're into. So these days things that like there's lots of stuff that my in real life meet space friends and family aren't into and they kind of think I'm weird for being that into things like YouTube, playing Minecraft, an adult who enjoys playing Minecraft with or without my kids around. Back in episode number one thirty, actually, since I was looking back, goodstuff.fm/dailyish/13zero.
Speaker 1:An episode titled Unbridled Passion for Useless Information was a bit about this thing where I really love finding out about new apps, new web stuff. It's kind of replaced my interest in Apple gear now that everyone in their eye dog finds out about it the second it happens. It's kind of gotten rather predictable and safe, maybe even boring these days. Not that it's not cool stuff, but I could really care less about the Apple Watch. The iPad Pro is kind of interesting, but can't really justify affording it or can't afford to justify it.
Speaker 1:One of those things. For anything right now and but like if there's some new, video streaming service every five minutes that's launched, some new startup thing, I'm checking that out because I don't know why it just fascinates me for some reason. That idea like I've said before of turning on some software on my computer and being able to send out a video HD video stream out to somewhere in the world, anyone in the world could watch, is just kind of crazy and boggles my mind. And so it's that kind of stuff that I I think is still really interesting to me because, either for good reason because they're, you know, busy or or aren't as easily, distracted, like a dog with a squirrel like I am with some of that stuff. I find most folks are kinda like, that's great Chris.
Speaker 1:Good job, but that's awesome that you found that, but I'm gonna keep doing this thing that works over here and, not follow that rabbit trail that you seem to find find yourself running down every other day. So, that's the main thing like because everything else I find like I'm not super into sports. I'm not like I I can I like enjoying watch I enjoy watching the the local football team, the Saskatchewan Roughriders or the Canadian baseball team? Now we just have one left, Toronto Blue Jays, and the hockey teams and stuff. Winnipeg Jazz is my team there, but again, I don't I don't go out of my way to really do that.
Speaker 1:It's not that hard to find people if I was really into it who would want to watch that, every day or whatever with me. So
Speaker 2:yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 1:It's an interesting question, but it's it's one that I find, not that difficult to to find somebody who is into. That's going back to a couple episodes ago talking about going to Cleveland and actually meeting a lot of the YouTube fans that I work with or or I'm in communication with with the at youtube.com site was kind of it was really cool to put faces and people to the names and not avatars and whatever's on Twitter and stuff that and Slack that you converse with. And like I said, definitely would encourage you to as long as it's within your within meet your means and within reason to go and actually meet up with somebody in the groups of people like that that you otherwise just communicate digitally with, it's definitely worth doing, because it kind of on the one hand, it kind of validates this thing that you're into and and makes it seem, more, more justifiable to be into it. I definitely came home thinking like, why not just fly around the world following a band that you like? What what's so crazy about that?
Speaker 1:But, yeah, it helps sort of, yeah, solidify what it is that you're doing and why and and also to like be able to laugh and cry and whatever with other folks who have shared shared interests. But yeah, there's, I I was gonna say there's some some new web streaming service just so I can smile time.com. Check that one out and you have to use Chrome or Firefox but for whatever reason that's another one that came across the Twitter's that I heard about, learned about. So
Speaker 2:there you go. What are
Speaker 1:you playing on video gaming? Actually, it's one thing that I really wish I had more time for and and but just can't justify doing. I have a whole bunch of Steam game games on Steam, the platform that I got as part of a bundle a while back in addition to a few that I've bought over the years and that's something that a lot of people on or there isn't very many people sorry in my sort of peers that are into video games. What you like they might be a little bit into like say Xbox gaming or something like that if they have a console, but computer gaming is definitely something way down the list of interest or right right off the radar and, but again that's where like online if I really wanted to dive into it, it wouldn't be that hard to find forums and Twitter folks and things like that, Twitch streamers and things to to get into, sort of feeling comfortable with that enjoy that kind of thing. So what's something you find interesting, dear listener, that nobody else around you seems to find interesting?
Speaker 1:You can, if you're in this if you're a patron, patreon.com/icris. If you support that, you're in the stuffy Slack, feel free to throw a response in the daily ish, channel. Icris on Twitter, [email protected] is my email address. Thank you for listening. Hope you have a good day.
Speaker 1:Bye.
